These shears are designed to break nut shells and produce chunkier nutmeats. Made of durable steel, they can easily cut through shells. Please use caution when handling, as they are very sharp. They can cut almost anything except metal.
We do not manufacture these shears ourselves; they are primarily designed for cutting threads and fine wires. Most of our customers experience little to no issues and are very satisfied with their performance. However, we are unable to offer a warranty, as the manufacturer does not provide one to us.

Additional Tips:
- Avoid twisting your hand while snipping, as this can damage the shears. Keep your hand straight for smoother, more effective cutting.
- If your walnuts are difficult to crack, try soaking them for 3–4 days to allow moisture to soften the shells. Depending on shell thickness, soaking may take up to 7–8 days. After soaking, let the nuts dry to the touch before cracking.
- Walnuts are typically at their best stage for cracking about two weeks after being removed from the hull. Soaking helps recreate this ideal condition.

- For optimal performance, keep grease on the camshaft and upper ram every few buckets.

If you twist your hand, it might break off . Just keep straight while you snip the shells. The problem is your nuts might be too hard to crack. Try this method. However, you need to soak them for at least 3 or 4 days to let the moisture penetrate the shell and soften the nutmeats. It can take as much as 7 or 8 days according to how thick the shell is. Then just let them dry to the touch and go ahead and get cracking. When the nuts have been out of the hull for about two weeks they are at their best stage for cracking and the soaking simply duplicates that condition. Please watch our videos and written info on nut preparation. Maybe a good idea to view all of our helpful videos. You are going to like the results when you take these steps. Also important to keep grease on cam shaft and upper ram every few buckets.

I failed to look at the online instructions about how to use the shears correctly and I overtaxed my first pair and broke them. I looked at them prior to using my second set of shears and they worked a lot better for me!

Dear Dennis, I gave the Goody Getter and the Shear to my daughter who lives far away. I haven't used the products, but she is very grateful for her "industrial strength" walnut cracker. I've had no report on the Shear. Sorry, I can't speak about them.

These mighty nippers are just what is needed to clip the shells from the nut meats. Much more precise than any pick I've ever used. Use them as intended. Do not pry on the shell & they'll last a good long time.
