Better than I expected

I've been harvesting and cracking Black Walnuts in NJ for many years. Watched dozens of online videos. I use a very large vice to crack them and thought I had the very best method of all. Not so. Not only was this cracker easier to use and better at breaking the shell, but the instructions provided valuable information that I never found in any video. If you're serious about annual walnut harvesting, this is the way to go. Well Done! Regarding the shear, rubber handles failed on me. Not a deal breaker.

Works like a charm

I bought this with the butternut attachment. For black walnuts, it works far better than the black walnut cracker that I bought almost 20 years ago, and the nuts I cracked came out mainly in quarters and halves. The butternut attachment needs a taper/angle in the counterbore for the point of the nut to keep pieces of the shell from lodging tightly in it when the nut is cracked. I think that digging out the jammed pieces from the points of the butternut would be much easier if there was a taper to the counterbored hole.

Get Crackin’!

Very impressed by the mechanics and sturdiness of this nutcracker! It does take some shoulder strength to operate, but I haven’t yet tried clamping in down as advised; I’m positive that’ll make it much easier to handle. This is a powerful and efficient device.

Works as Advertized

Works very well, getting the black walnut meat out in nice large pieces. So far I have cracked out about 5 ilbs of the 60 lb of nuts I collected off my one tree. Recomend this for any one who likes black walnut for eating or cooking.

I should have read your directions more carefully before lubrication. I got some lube on the cam under the lower nut support and found it sliding backward under load. After getting it cleaned up it worked perfectly. I did notice some flexing of the unit with some really hard nuts but nothing broke. Used it hard for 4 days straight making enough nuts for a couple of years. The shears really helped alot - very heavy duty.

Hours of fun!

This unit lives up to the description. I am able to crack and separate at 3x the rate of the hitting my fingers with a hammer method. No swearing or bruises. After some practice, the shell pieces fall away and the genius side cutter (included, thank you) makes it possible to quickly free the remaing goodies. I love it!

World Class nut cracker!!!

Assembled it in about 4 minutes. Nothing ever goes together that easy for me. An extremely good quality. Definitely built to last by a caring American family business.

This nutcracker works fantastically and efficiently on my black walnuts! Coupled with the use of the included snips, there is no better way to crack them.

I started harvesting black walnuts a number of years ago. The main focus was to produce a black walnut pie. I would use my framing hammer to open the walnuts. Oftentimes the walnut would just shatter and pieces would fly everywhere. Now I am able crack them open in rapid succession with less mess. The nipper tool that came with it really does the job. Before, I had been using a small pair of diagonal cutters that are meant for cutting wire. This machine does what I need it to do. It saves time and reduces mess and waste. This product is well made and will last me the rest of my life. I consider it money well spent
